Tablas Creek
October
Founded in 1989 by Robert Haas and the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel, Tablas Creek Vineyard has become one of California’s most celebrated pioneers of Rhône varieties.
What began as a partnership rooted in a shared vision, finding a piece of California with limestone soils and a maritime climate akin to Châteauneuf-du-Pape, has grown into 120 acres of organically farmed estate vineyards in the Adelaida District of Paso Robles, chosen for their unique character and exceptional growing conditions.
Tablas Creek’s philosophy is rooted in thoughtful farming and minimal intervention, allowing the vineyard to express its own sense of place. Working with rocky limestone soils imported alongside original vine cuttings from Beaucastel itself, the winery crafts wines known for their energy, balance, and remarkable purity. Every bottle reflects a commitment to showcasing the individuality of the vineyard rather than the hand of the winemaker.
Today, Tablas Creek continues to produce elegant, site-driven wines that have earned widespread acclaim while remaining dedicated to organic and biodynamic farming and meticulous craftsmanship. From vibrant Roussanne and Viognier to expressive Grenache and distinctive Mourvèdre and Syrah, each wine offers a true reflection of the Rhône varieties and terroir that inspire them.
